Olivine nodules that comprise coarse-grained olivine intergrown with ortho- and clinopyroxene and chrome spinel are interpreted as peridotite fragments. They occur within an alkali olivine basalt. The reflectance of the spinel phase is similar to that of the silicate minerals.
